Autumn is just around the corner and the days are starting to get cooler and gloomier. However, that doesn't mean it's time to lock yourself indoors and get caught up in the gloom. Get up from your armchair and leave Netflix alone; take some time to look out of the window! During this time, nature gives us plenty of treats such as chestnuts, strawberry trees and quincesnot to mention grapes, olives and mushrooms (can't you smell the risotto in the air? 😆). The autumn season has a special charm, especially in Bergamowhich, with its impressive venetian walls and its extensive tourist offer never ceases to amaze. Alone or in company, it doesn't matter! Get out of the house and discover Bergamo in autumn... a short walk will be enough to banish the bad mood.😉
Discovering Bergamo in autumn: the Colli di Bergamo Park
If you love being outdoors and doing some sporting activity, then know that the Colli di Bergamo park never closes, not even when it rains! This natural area covering some 4,700 hectares reaches as far as Upper Townthe medieval part of Bergamo's capital city. Overlooked by the Mount Canto Alto (almost 1,200 metres above sea level), the Parc des Colli area offers breathtaking scenery: here you can walk among vegetable gardens, meadows and vineyards. And who knows, maybe you will even be lucky enough to witness a good harvest! 🍇
Considered Bergamo's green lung, the Parc dei Colli becomes particularly attractive during the autumn season for the variety of colours. It is no coincidence that many photography enthusiasts choose this very place to take evocative shots. Plant and vegetable lovers will also be able to admire theBotanical Garden of Bergamo 'Lorenzo Rota' located in the Astino Monastery and participate in some interesting educational tours. If you are still a beginner, but still want to learn more about the local flora, we recommend visiting this page and download an application for recognising plants🤗 Who said that nature and technology cannot get along?
Discovering Bergamo in autumn: the GAMeC
Yes, OK, that's true, but if it's pouring rain, how can you stay outside all day? The risk of catching the flu is always lurking! Still, this is no reason to loll on the sofa and take refuge between the blankets in the company of herbal tea. In Bergamo there are plenty of opportunities to have fun and enrich one's culture. You just have to look around and choose the right places, such as, the GAMeCthe modern and contemporary art gallery in Bergamo.
For the month of October, two exhibitions will be inaugurated in the exhibition spaces of Piazza Carrara... and we can't wait to see them! The first is entitled 'Ti Bergamo' and is a collection of photographic images, videos, documents and works of art that aim to tell the story of Bergamo by focusing on on the sense of solidarity and community. The aim is to share with the public the love for this city, so deeply marked by the lockdown.
The second is called "In The Forest Even The Air Breathes" and was realised by Abhijan Toto, the winner of the 10th edition of the Lorenzo Bonaldi Prize for Art - EnterPrize. This exhibition focuses on the relationship between man and his environmenta very important theme that relates to current events and describes places that are very distant from each other. Don't worry, you don't have to be an art expert to visit the GAMeC! If you have finished yet another TV series and are already starting to get bored, know that this is the perfect place to free your mind and learn something new.
In short, even in bad weather Bergamo never stops. 😎And if you are planning to visit this city during the autumn, then check out our Experience Packages: explore the Bergamo area and you won't regret it! 😊
